Bentley Masterpiece to be unveiled
A one-of-a-kind pocket watch from the Breitling for Bentley collection is to be unveiled In Switzerland.
The unveiling later this year at Baselworld will honour Walter Owen “WO” Bentley, who in 1919 founded the famed British brand that bears his name.
The 18-carat yellow-gold case cover features an engraving showing WO Bentley driving one of his early racing cars.
Based on a design from the late 19th century in Breitling’s archives, the Bentley Masterpiece consists of almost 700 parts.
It combines two of the most sophisticated complications in the “horological repertoire”, namely a perpetual calendar (displaying the date, day, month, leap years and moon phases) that takes account of movements for February 29th, and a minute repeater which strikes the hours, quarters and minutes on demand. .
